Advocating for the Maine lobster industry

The Maine Lobster Dealers' Association represents Maine’s lobster industry at the wharf, in the supply chain, and around the world. We collaborate with our partners in the industry and work to keep the Maine lobster industry sustainable, viable and profitable. Our group consists of wharves, wholesalers, processors, and affiliated businesses that represent the critical connection between lobster fishermen and consumers. Our members collectively have hundreds of years of experience in market expansion and development, fisheries management, promotion, supply and demand, and consumer trends. Our group’s cooperation and participation is critical for any legislative, conservation, or enforcement efforts.

The lobster industry is changing – on the water, in the supply chain and in the marketplace. MLDA advocates for businesses at the state and federal level, operating as the united voice in communications, with government relations, and industry and community outreach. We collaborate with our peers in the industry to solve problems and provide direct access for MLDA members to key decision and policy makers.
